inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure.
Sentinel is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize
the nation's aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles,
which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part

Job Summary: In this role, you will conduct field investigations
and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates
for a project's electrical engineering aspects. You will lead
design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical
components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve
technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of a
project's electrical engineering aspects are met. This position is
for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, who will
prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF
projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational
and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do
attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will
specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and
Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. LI-SNH Major
Responsibilities: Level I: Evaluates, selects, and applies standard
electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria
for a small size project or assignment in support of a global
business unit or staff group to include the preparation of original
designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications Designs,
develops, modifies, and evaluates components and processes used in
the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of
electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures
(EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard
Application Programs (BSAPs) Prepares or assists in preparation of
conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals Coordinates
electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty
groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors,
construction and other functional groups Provides assistance to
project and construction management in identifying and complying
with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as
they arise during project execution Completes electrical
documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of
specifications and reliability Level II: Plans and conducts
independent electrical work requiring judgment in the evaluation,
selection, application and adaptation of electrical engineering
techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or
assignment in support of a global business unit Leads the design,
development, modification and evaluation of components and
processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and
storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department
Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel
Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) Develops conceptual designs
for electrical engineering projects or projects having specialized
or unique requirements Supports preparation of estimates, staffing
needs and schedules Prepares or oversees the preparation of
discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project
scope, schedule and budget, and supports implementation and assists
with performance reporting Coordinates with client representatives,
as directed, to obtain their approval of electrical aspects of the
work This role will support design development of Electrical
systems and equipment design for the Sentinel program project by
preparing engineering studies, drawings, calculations,
specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable
procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with
and mentor junior electrical engineers as well as work with other
technical disciplines in a team environment. Develop new design
drawings using Autocad such as single lines, panel schedules,
schematics, cable block diagrams, grounding, lightning protection,
cathodic protection, and more. Perform power system analysis
modeling and calculations utilizing ETAP. Calculations will include
Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor starting, Relay Coordination, Arc
Flash. Other facility calculations include, lighting design using
AGI 32, facility ground grid sizing utilizing ETAP, and underground
cable thermal de-rating analysis utilizing ETAP Perform equipment
sizing calculations such as medium voltage utility and low voltage
transformers, panel boards, surge protective devices,
uninterruptable power supplies and battery sizing calculations
Perform circuit breaker and cable sizing calculations per NFPA 70
to include various de-rating factors. Develop equipment and
material specifications utilizing the software SpecsIntact Develop
procurement documentation (written scopes of work) as well as
perform supplier proposal evaluations. Review vendor submittals and
integrate information into the design Coordinate systems
requirement development and verifications with Systems engineering
and the client Education and Experience Requirements: Level I:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10
years of relevant work experience Must be a United States Citizen
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and
background check Level II: Requires bachelor's degree (or
international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant work
experience Must be a United States Citizen Must be able to complete
and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Relevant experience includes, but
is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for
Electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process
facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex
building Electrical systems. US citizenship is required per
contract requirement. Possess active security clearance or ability
to obtain security clearance. Experience with Microsoft office
programs, and other common computer programs. Excellent
communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize
engineering and office automation tools effectively. Knowledge of
industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards. Broad
knowledge of the application of Electrical engineering design
principles. Strong knowledge of electrical systems for part of, or
all of, the responsibilities listed above. Strong understanding of
engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and
cable sizing. Strong knowledge of power systems load modeling and
analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Level I: MS degree in
Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with 6-8 years
of relevant experience. Level II: MS degree in Electrical
Engineering from an accredited university with 8-11 years of
relevant experience. Registered Professional Engineer in USA
(Electrical Engineering). Experience working with procedures
meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. Prior
experience working with government agencies, preferably the
Department of Defense. Experience executing engineering design with
Smartplant 3D. Experience performing calculations with ETAP.
Understanding of Mechanical and Process engineering discipline
drawings and system calculations, as related to electrical design
requirements. Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat
specifications, or SpecsIntact. Design experience with Unified
Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide. Secret
clearance is preferred, but not required.
