Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high
quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and
specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the
scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and
specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other
members of the care team, the RN provides individualized,
comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing
models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves
as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a
commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support
an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that
contribute to overall departmental performance. - Performs
procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the
medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the
patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. - Teaches
patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition,
patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side
effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical
terminology to ensure complete understanding. - Teaches
patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up
measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention,
and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and
families/caregivers for future self-management. - Manages
evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement
initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance the
exceptional care provided to patients. - Manages the quality of
care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate,
evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan
that promotes and supports recovery. In our unit: - Our ICU has
been relocated into our new tower and is completely new and
modernized - Work proximally with CVICU with multiple career paths
available - Tenured team who love what we do and thrive in a fast
paced environment - Very experienced staff in CCU and CCICU -
Experience mentoring those working towards CNRN, SCRN or CRNA -
Plans to expand adding Neuro ICU in the future In this role: - You
will prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients
based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention. -
You will demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking
and clinical judgment to make nursing decision and identify health
care needs. - You will evaluate and document each patient's
response to medications, interventions, and procedures. - You will
assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the
patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual
needs. - You will monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms and the
ability to intervene as needed. - You will assist the physician
with procedures such as intubation, line placement and chest tubes
- You will ensure ventilator, monitors and other equipment are
functioning properly. You are able to trouble shoot alarms. - You
will demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function
well under stressful situations. - You will collaborate with fellow
members of the critical care team. Qualifications: - Current Utah
State RN license in good standing. - Associate’s degree. - American
Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course
(BLS or BCLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain BLS or BCLS
within 7 days of hire and maintain certification. - American Red
Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course
(ALS or ACLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain ALS or ACLS
within 90 days of hire and maintain certification. - 1 years ICU
