Utah Transit AuthorityJob SummaryWorks independently with little
direction to perform skilled maintenance and repair of a wide
variety of facility equipment to include: steam cleaning equipment,
grounds and building maintenance equipment, trailers and vehicles.
Identifies problems and performs tasks safely and completely. Uses
required hand and power tools and equipment; operates company
vehicles, trucks, vans forklifts, lifting equipment, backhoes and
other vehicles. Reads and works from schematics, specifications,
and technical manuals. Inspects and determines safety of equipment.
Maintains records and files. Schedules and performs work to meet
established time lines. Completes other Road Crew duties as
assigned to include snow and ice removal on passenger

QualificationsEDUCATION/TRAINING
- Master Certification (as determined by ASE) in Automotive
preferred.
- Successfully pass UTAs Mechanical Enhancement Test (MET).
- Passing score on standardized test administered by the
Authority.EXPERIENCE
- Work experience as required for ASE Master Certification.
- Must have a valid Utah drivers license.
- Be a safe driver with no more than 2 moving violations in the
past 3 years.
- Have no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol
or any drugs within the past 10 years.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain DOT card.
- Must have a current or be able to acquire a valid Class A CDL
drivers license.
- Have required tools.
- Must be or be able to become Fork Lift certified within
probation period.
- Must be able to work some overtime and holidays as needed.
- Must be proficient at a basic level in Microsoft Word, Excel
and Outlook.
- Ability to meet established time lines and work independently
with little direction.
- Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, staff and
others.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and
effectively.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written
directions.
- Ability to read schematics, specifications, and technical
manuals. This job requires regular and predictable attendance.- OR
